Primary School Anthems

Recently Twitter had a trending topic that had me reminiscing about my primary school days.Seems like an eternity since I was last in primary school. In reality, it hasn't even been that long (as I was last at my primary school in Year 10, for work experience).

Who remembers assembly? Y'know the place where all the classes and teachers gather, and you are given a 'Thought For The Day' or you sang a song. Well I use the term 'sang' losely, as in my class the aim was to shout the song loudest. If you could do this the LOUDEST, then you were an OG for the day. My favourite assembly song apart from 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' was:"Please Miss" (see lyrics below), because the lyrics are actually hi-lari-ous.

Please, Miss - she just took my pencil and I need it
Why can't she be sensible
I've told her time and time again,
But she says she wont be my friend!

Please, Miss - he just called me names and said I'm stupid.
He is such a pain you know
I've heard it time and time again,
It really drives me around the bend!

Please, Miss - somebody has stolen my PE kit,
This one here has holes in 'cause
They've worn it time and time again,
I can't wear this, it needs a mend.
CHORUS

In case you think I'm being nasty,
I thought you really ought to know.
I'm telling you to save you asking -
Just turn around and look at that, I TOLD YOU SO!

Please, Miss - so and so is being such a fidget!
I know she doesn't mean it but
She fusses time and time again,
I really wish she'd move away.

Please, Miss - someone's torn my picture and they've spoilt it
It really makes me sick, I've had to
Start it time and time again
Now all that work has been in vain.

CHORUS

In case you think I'm being nasty,
I thought you really ought to know.
I'm telling you to save you asking -
Just turn around and look at that, I TOLD YOU SO!

(TEACHER)

Dismissed! - I've had quite enough of all this business!
All I ever hear about is
"He did this" and "She did that"
Tittle, tattle, yak, yak, yak!
(Repeat last 2 lines)

And playground games, they were the one boy!!! From the skipping to the hand-clap games, there was one in there for everyone. Here's one I bet you didn't sing in front of THE parents ;P

 "Under the apple tree,
my boyfriend said to me,
'Kiss me, hug me, tell me that you love me,
touch up my body' 1, 2, 3
A, B ,C"

What songs did you sing in assembly/ in the playground that you'd like to share? Care to share? Leave all comments below. As always, stay blessed and beautiful dolls xoxo
