Keep It Simple Stupid

As you all know I'm in the process of creating a new skincare and haircare regime, but recently I had a setback which has caused me to revise my new haircare regime. My setback was that the front sides of my hair have started to thin (quite dramatically, rather unfortunately for me). Some of you might think that my new misfortune should make me continue with my new haircare regime with more zest and perseverance, but rather it's done the complete opposite.
I have never really been the girl who had thin hair, in fact one thing I've always been complimented on (hair-wise) apart from length is the thickness and fullness of my hair. So if you'd empathise with me for a minute you'd understand how alarmed and worried I was at my new hair status. When your hair starts to break (shed/ drop out at an alarming and unusual rate), you normally try to figure out out the cause of the problem. So I thought to myself, what could the problem be? And I came up with a range of theories. Without further ado, in no particular order, here goes:

This is me at prom, with my hair in weave.

1) I'm a weaveaholic, you rarely catch me with my hair outta weave, but for the past 6 months, I've had my hair out, and have not been keeping it in the best condition ever.
2) I don't have a constant consistent hairdresser. One lady does my weaves, another one does my texturizers and treatments. And just recently I added a new one to the bunch. This is not because I like being a hairdresser prostitute, because I really hate having various hands poking, prodding and playing with my hair. It's more to do with the fact that I can't seem to find a an affordable and decent black hairdresser in London.
3) Constantly wearing weave (and never allowing my hair to breathe and recuperate afterwards) might not have been the best hair solution for me, as my hair has lost its overall thickness :(

My 18th (With weave)
I know some of y'all might be wondering why I'm shocked and surprised that my hair's breaking after reading the above statements, but this is what I've been doing to my hair and it hasn't really broken, so I don't know why it thought it'd to start doing it now.
So what's my hair solution? Whilst I've been recommended hair treatments and remedies, I think from now onwards I'm gonna be extra vigilant with what I put on my hair, and try to keep the ingredients list as natural and minimal as possible. I'm really into carrier and essential oils, and I might do a JBCO (Jamaican Black Castor Oil) treatment, as I've seen before and after pics from some women, and the results do really look fantastic.
My hair solution isn't really that exciting if I'm honest as when I think back to when I had my optimum hair (length, texture and thickness) it wasn't when I used a zillion and one hair care products, and monitored the ingredients list (vigorously, as some hair guru's recommend) but when I just used a couple of products. It was when I greased (yes, I said greased), my hair regularly, and when I used the same products constantly, as opppsed to always changing it up, and when I did hardly anything to my hair.So I think I'm gonna just go back to my old ways to be honest.

(This is my hair when texturized)

When I was younger my mum used to thread my hair. If you're Ghanaian you'll know what I mean, and if you were unfortunate enough to attend the same secondary school I did, you may actually remember what that looked like. I may actually let her start doing it again. I don't think I'll wear it out (of the house), like I used to, but I do think it's a good protective hairstyle for when I'm having my stay-at-home days. I also used to use AllWays hair grease (the one with the purple/green lid) and LeKair Hair Cholesterol to deep condition my hair after every wash.
Whilst I am going to try and improve the condition of my hair by looking after it properly,  I don't think I'm gonna get too excited with it. It would appear that 'Keeping It Simple' is the way forward sometimes.

As always stay blessed and beautiful dolls xoxo
