Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set

Hi Dolls,

I succumbed to peer pressure from the blogging/vlogging community and finally bought myself the brush set that everyone's been raving about.
I am now the proud owner of the Real Techniques Core Collection Kit, made by the lovely Samantha Chapman, a fellow beauty bl/vlogger. Samantha has made a video showing you all the ways you can use your brush set, which means the brush set accommodates all, from the beauty newbies to the beauty-pros.
I'd had my eye on the set for ages but it was £20.99 £21 everywhere, and I thought I'd snap it up, when it was cheaper.
And snap it up I did. I remember seeing it when it has been reduced to £15.24 and adding it to my Amazon wishlist, and by the time I had enough money for it, it had gone. Boy was I devastated! I got mine (ages ago), when I saw it had gone down to £14.66, and this time I didn't bother putting it into my wishlist like last time, I just bought it straight away. As I had an Amazon gift voucher, I got a further discount and ended up only paying £13.93 for the whole set.
Talk about bargain. This set is supposedly worth it's weight in gold because the buffing brush is meant to be A-MAZING!!!
 The set features:
  • Buffing Brush
  • Contour Brush
  • Detailer Brush
  • Pointed Foundation Brush
  • Panoramic Case  (which also doubles up as a stand)
If you'd like to cop yourself a kit, try Amazon, it's currently only £14.65.
Have any of you tried any of the Real Techniques? If so, how did they fare?
Has anyone else managed to find some bargain-licious brush sets? Do let me know, in the comments section below.

That's all for now m'lovelies. Until next time, as always stay blessed and beautiful dolls xoxo

#YAMS: Lukewarm Christians

Does God even know you're his CHILD?
So here's a post I've been debating about writing for some time. From the title of my post, you've probably guessed that this post is not going to be my standard everyday post, but something a tad different.
What is a Lukewarm Christian (LC) I hear you ask?  LC's attend church regularly, they may even hold positions within the church e.g. be Sunday School teachers or choir members. Lukewarm Christians tend not to disclose the fact that they are Followers of Christ (FOC) with colleagues, neighbours and friends. They prefer not to be outcasts. Lukewarm Christians do the bare minimum; not quite enough to be true FOC's, yet not so little, they're considered atheists.
What's the problem with being a lukewarm Christian? Why not live your life now, and give your life to God properly later? The problem my brothers and sisters is this... You think your lukewarmness is beneficial to you, because it allows you to continue dibbling and dabbling in worldly things such as drinks, drugs, sex and more, but what you don't realise is that you're killing yourself slowly. Slowly but surely. Outwardly you appear to be fine, and appear to be living. Inwardly though, it's a different story, as you're spiritually dying. Your tomorrows are not promised. Every action has a consequence. Prevention is better than cure. It's not about living it up, and then suffering later.
Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV) says: "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many works? And then I will profess unto them I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity". I'm not here to preach at y'all because Lord knows I'm not a saint, and I personally can't stand those who think their 'holier than thou' kinda people, and I'm guilty of being lukewarm myself. However, as a fellow Christian it'd be wrong of me to sit here and not share my newfound knowledge with you. After all sharing is caring. And as they say knowledge is power. Now that I've brought you in, you now know what I know, it's up to you, what you do with that knowledge.
As always stay blessed and beautiful dolls xoxo.

#LAM has won 'The Liebster Award'

I'm super excited to have won my first award on this blog. The Liebster Award, is a blogging award which is given from one blogger to another. The award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 300 followers. The word "liebster" in German means "favourite", "dear" or "beloved."

1) How/why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I love beauty and talking. I read/watch a lot of beauty blogs and vlogs, and then one day decided to become a more active part of the community, so took the plunge and the rest as they say is history.

2) Who reads #LAM?

I envision a LAM reader to be a female adult in her twenties, who has an interest in either one or all of the following: black history, beauty, christianity, books, news (showbiz, world/current affairs).

3)
What's your favourite outfit?
Any outfit that falls into the #AllBlackEverything category. When all else fails, just go black. Black never fails.

4) What's your favourite quote, and who is it by?
This is quite a tricky one y'know. It's a toss up between Marianne Wilson's: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure..." & C. J. Allen's "As a man thinketh, so is he".
I'll be doing blog posts on both quotes in future.

5) What's your favourite colour?
Blue in general. In clothes, burgundy, black, and tan.

6)
Who was the last person you texted?
My cousin Hannah.

7) What's your favourite 'thing' atm?

"Scandal". Need I say more? Who isn't watching this programme at the moment?
8) If you could meet anyone (dead/alive) who would it be?
Any black rights activistst. I would have loved to have met Malcom X, or been alive in his time. That man is a legend.

9) What's your favourite book?

You can't ask a true book lover, their favourite book- there are far too many to choose from. Malorie Blackman's "Noughts and Crosses" quartet was pretty amazing. I really loved Penny Vincenzi's trilogy and the Babyfather series by Patrick Augustus was (and is) great.

10)What has been your proudest blogging achievement?

It will sound corny but winning this award has probably been my proudest achievement to date.

Before I go, I'd like to also nominate Adija, Myra, and Demi.

I'd also like to say a special thank you to Adija for nominating me, and like to take this opportunity to nominate Adija to accept the award from me in return. FYI, you must answer 10 questions in total for your award. I've highlighted 5 of the questions I'd like you to answer in red. You can pick your remaining 5 from the internet. Pick 3-10 people you'd like to nominate for the award & make sure they each have less than 250 followers.
P.S. I'm so sorry for accepting the award 100 years later, I literally never saw your comment :) x

As always until next time, stay blessed and beautiful dolls xoxo

#YAMS: Happy Easter!

Lord I Lift Your Name On High

Lord, I lift Your name on high
Lord, I love to sing Your praises
I'm so glad You're in my life
I'm so glad You came to save us

You came from heaven to earth
To show the way
From the earth to the cross
My debt to pay
From the cross to the grave
From the grave to the sky
Lord, I lift Your name on high

Lord, I lift Your name on high...

This has always been one of my favourite church songs. When I was younger, I used to just sing along to it carelessly not fully appreciating the gravity or significance of its words. Now that I am older, I fully appreciate the song, particularly the chorus hence I highlighted the chorus in red.

How will you guys celebrate Easter?
Do any of you have any christian songs that really resonate with you, particularly during the Easter period?

Please share in the comments section below.

As always until next time, stay blessed and beautiful dolls xoxo
